Brain Games 

Play Iconic Games at Director Park

Enjoy three of the most famous games in the world. Learn the skills and strategy for each game, test your knowledge and find a new community while having fun.

The day is for everyone, from those just learning through expert tournament level players.

11:30am:  Learn to play Competitive Scrabble
Learn about the game and the rules for competitive players. Watch experienced players demonstrate a sample game.

12:15pm:  Register for Tournament Play
12:30pm - 5:30pm:  Tournament Play
5 rounds of play. Tournament will be non-rated, and use the WOW24 dictionary. Players who have never played in a tournament before will be allowed to use a common word list that we will provide and will be allowed 5 extra minutes on their clock.

1:00pm - 6:00pm:  Learn to play and Open Play

On both giant chess board & free tables.
Mini Speed Tournament and other fun games.

5:30pm- 9:00pm: Giant Blitz Knockout Tournament

Knockout, double-elimination bracket

First 8 entrants guaranteed a spot. Further sign-ups as alternates allowed. Same day sign-ups if space.

Games will be played on Director Park's giant chess set. 

Time Control of 5 minutes each, with a 5 second increment (5+5).

Informational tabling setup, where people can learn  how to play. There will also be boards and stones for casual play available.
In addition, some advanced strategy and history will be discussed for those who are interested.
