Pillars of Storytelling Workshops: World Building
WEDNESDAY, SEPT 10, 2:00pm - 3:30pm
at Lil' America, 1015 SE Stark St, Portland
The tools of the world builder are vast and seek deep roots that can sometimes never be seen in the stories they end up sheltering. Vast as the tools and methods are for defining the time and place of a story, Pantheon Arts see them as a pivotal point to connect the real/ordinary world and the world you are building, so we refer to it as the Crossroad Pillar. This crossroad imparts wisdom about those tools to build the lore of a world, and we seek to share those lights with you. Knowledge to create the moments of history that make up a fictional place, tips on how to research for more robust content, establishing your own limits - like with how big the scope of the story is or magic systems, but most importantly, the understanding of when and where to start a story.

Exploitation auteur, Takashi Miike (AUDITION, ICHI THE KILLER), directs a loving homage to family-friendly 1970’s Tatsunoko animation in this slapstick-mecha-nostalgia trip! Gan and his girlfriend Ai are mild-mannered toy shop owners by day but, when evil lurks, they transform into superheroes Yatterman 1 & 2. With the help of a dog-shaped robot, Yatterwoof, they take on the Doronbow gang, lead by the sexy Lady Doronjo.
