Displaced Embers is a short 4-minute stop motion animated film that depicts human and animal displacement through the legend of Bigfoot, revealing the need for cultural considerations when building climate resilience. The film details the journey of Ember, a female Bigfoot who is forced to leave her home in the Pacific Northwest due to wildfire.

Artists Bio

Emma Knapton is a mixed-media artist and outdoor enthusiast who obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. Her preferred medium is stop-motion animation and fabrication. Her passion for stop-motion animation production developed as a child while creating miniature items for her dollhouse. Emma’s mixed-media practice draws from personal narrative and her appreciation for nature. She experiments with recycled materials, textiles, sculpture, and photography to incorporate into her methods of making.
